See what others are saying

This is a very interesting venue. We were greeted by one of the owners, who was very enthusiastic. We had Grouper Fingers and they were outstanding. We're going to put this little place on our rotation. Open air typical Florida Beach Bar/eatery, with a flair. Friendly staff and patrons. You won't go wrong...

“Great little place on the Causeway”

This is just a little bar and grill on the corner of Bayshore Blvd and the Dunedin Causeway (on the way out to Honeymoon Island), but they have very reasonable prices and good food for the money. Beer is cold, live music most evenings, and food is really good.

“Good food and laid back atmosphere”

This is the kind of place that makes you smile. The food is good and the burgers are the best I have had anywhere. Its a great come as you are atmosphere and the staff is always friendly and there if you need them. Dont let looks deceive you. If you want good food and a cold beer get to the Sandbar Grill.

“Florida Fish Sandwich Heaven!”

Who doesn't like blackened fish sandwiches? That's the specialty here, and they're delicious! The Mahi filets have been enormous lately, not sure why, and whether you get it blackened, lemon pepper, or grilled, there's no way to go wrong. The gator tail bits have been shrinking over the years, but the "tiger sauce" they come with has been just getting better & better. IF you have room afterward, there are plenty of tasty ice cream & key lime pie options to choose from.

“Beach Bar in Parking Lot”

Fancy it is not but I love this place. There is a bar, a screened porch and seating outside at tables with umbrellas on a deck. All offer an unobstructed view of traffic going to or returning from the beach.

But the coconut shrimp are terrific. I also like the grouper sandwiches. I am told the hot dogs are good, but I'll never order one when they have the shrimp and grouper!

The staff and customers are always friendly. And the beer is cold.

It's very informal of course. I love to stop here after a day spent kayaking from the Dunedin Causeway.

I have taken several folks here, men and women, and no one's been disappointed. Stopped for lunch with my brother and he insisted on going back before he left town later in the week.
